Wheeler Library: Online and In-Person Resources
Wheeler Library on the Web
In addition to its physical holdings, the Wheeler Library website is a dynamic resource that helps boys complete school projects or pursue budding interests. Librarians curate timely digital content that supports learning in the Lower School, Middle School, and Upper School, and they publish resources for parents and teachers [KH6] , too. The website is accessible wherever students are—in the library, the classroom, or at home.
What Can You Find In Wheeler Library?
Whether they’re attending day or boarding school, Fessenden boys have access to more than 21,000 items in the library’s collection, from books to periodicals to e-books. With our professional librarians’ help, students learn to locate, critically evaluate, and ethically use information. When not interacting with students, library faculty are collaborating with teachers, scheduling book talks with guest authors, providing individualized student book recommendations, and building curated reading lists for the entire Fessenden community.
More than Just a Reading Nook
The Wheeler Library has many spaces for day and boarding school students who want to read, reflect, and study. The Lower School Library offers a range of comfortable spaces where boys can snuggle up with a good book. In the Middle and Upper School space, boys can lounge in armchairs or gather at study tables.
But it’s not always quiet in the library. Many areas are used for group work and socializing, too. A Lower School collaborative classroom space and a Middle and Upper School “Think Tank” area host classes and other school activities. The library often hosts community events like Library Teas, yoga classes, guest speakers, art exhibits, and the Spring Book Fair.
