Welcoming community. Expansive campus. A place for everyone.
Ciongoli Center for Innovation
With floor-to-ceiling windows, an open-concept studio, and bright splashes of color, it’s safe to say that our Ciongoli Center for Innovation is architecturally striking. But it’s what happens inside the Ciongoli Center that’s truly magic. Whether a venue for coding, tinkering, building, or problem-solving, our state-of-the-art resources combined with an emphasis on project-based learning allow students to develop fundamental and technical skills in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM), as well as essential skills such as creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking.
Wheeler Library
Located next to its campus neighbor, the Ciongoli Center for Innovation, you will find one of the most frequented spaces at Fessenden—The Wheeler Library. A traditional library at first glance, a 21st-century world awaits inside this space where collaboration is key, and creativity is fostered. Divided into areas for younger and older students, the library’s Lower School space features a Story Room and benches and pillows for reading, while the flexible Middle and Upper School library area supports exploration and study with comfortable gathering spaces, a "Think Tank,” and media room for classes and collaborative activities.
Athletic Complex
Our athletic facilities rival any secondary school, with two organic turf fields (one with a track), three gyms, a wrestling center, a weight room, an indoor hockey rink, six lighted tennis courts, a squash center, and two outdoor swimming pools. Every boy can find a sport or activity to stay active and have fun right here on campus.
William R. Elfers Center for the Arts
The William R. Elfers ’63 Center for the Arts provides many spaces for Fessenden students to express, learn, and create. Capitalizing on the exciting intersection between technology and the arts, the Elfers Center allows students to make digital music, explore graphic design, understand the science behind acoustics, and more. From the state-of-the-art performance venues and rehearsal rooms to the visual arts studios and woodshop, the boys enjoy creative and innovative opportunities that are key to the Fessenden experience.
Sacerdote Science Center
Walking through the Sacerdote Science Center, you see that collaboration is truly everywhere at Fessenden—Upper School boys brainstorming, Middle Schoolers working in partnership on a project, our youngest students crafting their latest creation at the LEGO Wall. The innovative Sacerdote Science Center, including the Su Exploration Lab and other communal spaces, expands on existing strengths in the curriculum by providing agile learning spaces for boys to actively pursue inventive solutions to complex problems. With a living wall of plants, the Sacerdote Science Center is literally and figuratively alive and buzzing with creativity.
Community Spaces
All around campus, whether outside on playgrounds or Hyde Slope, or in one of our more historic spaces like The Palandjian Schoolroom or Hart House, everyone in the Fessenden community can find a space to collaborate academically and connect socially. Unique places for play and fun and quiet areas for rest and reflection all allow the boys the freedom and encouragement to become excellent problem solvers, find balance, and explore their creativity.
